Directions

There are 2 routes into Coniston, from either the North via Ambleside, or the South via Torver. If using SatNav, please follow the directions below when you enter Coniston:

From the North After the BP Garage, take the next right turn onto Station Road and follow the road round and up the hill. Turn left on to Old Furness Road and you should immediately see a signpost “The Banks” to the right. The road is steep for a short section, but it soon levels out and takes you to Bank Terrace.There is a designated parking space at the end of the row of cottages with a name plaque to show which space belongs to Miner’s Cottage see photo.

From the South After passing the Wilson Arms, follow the road for 2 ¼ miles to Coniston, turn left onto Station Road (the Church is on your left) and follow the road round and up the hill. Turn left on to Old Furness Road and you should immediately see a signpost “The Banks” to the right. The road is steep for a short section, but it soon levels out and takes you to Bank Terrace.

Once you enter coniston, it’s advisable to follow the written instructions as above.

Parking

We have a private parking space at the end of the terrace, where it can stay for the duration giving you a more relaxing break, but please note that it is not suitable for low profile sports cars!!
